There is no limit to the number of guesses that any one person may purchase.
RYC Board Members and Employees are not eligible to purchase tickets.
Rain totals will be measured by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) using their weather station at the Ketchikan International Airport (KIA). In the event that the KIA rain gauge is inoperable, the NOAA weather station at Annette Island will be used to determine final rain amounts.
The final total precipitation for the year (as of 11:59pm on December 31st) will be certified by NOAA. Upon certification, the winners of the Rain Classic will be contacted and announced on social media.
Players are not required to be present to win.
Non-US citizens are eligible to play, provided their local jurisdiction does not prohibit them from participating.
All players must be at least 18 years old and physically present in Alaska at the time of purchase.
Players do not need to be Alaska residents. Visitors to Alaska are invited to play!
The size of the jackpot is variable and dependent upon the total number of guesses purchased. Updated jackpot totals will be provided through the contest period.
From the $5 purchase, $2 will be added into the jackpot. The remaining sum will go toward RYC’s community-based youth programming.
While RYC will not sell or monetize any private information, prize winners must agree to the unrestricted use of their name and general location of residence, as well as any photo or video images of the winner, in order to promote the activities of the Rain Classic.
Tickets are not transferable or refundable. All sales are final.
Any contact information collected during purchase will not be sold to third parties in any way. This information will be used exclusively to improve your experience with the Great Ketchikan Rain Classic.
The individual(s) names on the winning guess will be responsible for payment of all required tax withholdings and completion of all required regulatory paperwork before assuming ownership and taking possession of a prize.
RYC will make reasonable efforts to contact any prize winner(s) using the information provided at purchase. In the event that a winner is unable to take possession of a prize within 30 days of the initial contact attempt, the winner will automatically forfeit the prize without refund or other compensation., unless other arrangements between the winner and RYC are agreed to in writing prior to the expiration of the 30-day time limit. If a prize is forfeited, all proceeds from the prize will be used to fund RYC and its constituent programs.
